5 Ways to save your office budget.

- Printer Supplies: Bigger is better! That’s right, it’s much more cost effective to purchase or lease a larger copy/print/scan rather than sprinkle smaller ones throughout the office. The larger the machine the less cost per copy, not to mention the added features your employees are bound to fall in love with.
Remember print on both sides of the paper whenever possible!
- Office Furniture: With the economy in shambles and large companies downsizing there happens to be an abundance of used office furniture floating around. Bad for them, great for you! Some businesses are even electing to throw away perfectly good furniture rather than pay for the storage of such items.
You might have to pay for a professional to install them but it sure beats paying retail!
- Communications: In the last 5 years there has been great progress made in VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Before you usually got trunks from the phone company, a phone system from a telecom vendor, and probably a service contract to boot.
Now you can get the trunks and the system from a single vendor. This technology will not only save you 50% on your monthly phone bills, but will also provide your staff with easy to use tools to boost productivity.
All MAC’s (move’s, adds, or changes) can now be accomplished “in-house” with no technical experience needed. No waiting for, or bill from the vendor!
- Piggyback you’re advertising: Including advertising material in other mailings, such as in invoices, saves postage and other costs, says J. Donald Weinrauch, co-author of The Frugal Marketer. Likewise, make the most of your point-of-purchase opportunities by tucking coupons, newsletters or other promotional fliers in the bag with customers’ purchases.
- Ask for Employee Input: Holding a meeting or simply going around the office and asking for ideas, is a great way to get everyone in on the spirit of cutting back. Ask people what they’ve done in their own homes to decrease expenses, and see how you can implement those at work. Most people will be more than happy to share their ideas, and when they see them put to use in the office, they’ll be glad they were able to contribute in any way possible.
It’s the small expenses that often sneak by us, adding up to a big problem. But by taking a closer look at the little money leaks, you’ll make quite a savings in the long run. Be sure to calculate the expenses before and after, and share them openly with everyone. Explain it’s for the benefit of all, not just the company’s bottom line. Sure, cutting back can be hard and it does mean sacrifice on everyone’s part, but being open and honest with employees when it comes to trimming the fat by cutting down on office expenses will ensure you have not only everyone’s participation, but their enthusiasm as well.

OfficeServ™ 7000 Series Software Version 4.30i General Availability
June 10, 2009
Mpire telecom, Inc is pleased to announce the release of V4.30i system
software for the OfficeServ™ 7000 Series Systems.
New Features:
MOBEX
MOBEX, short for Mobile Extension, is a new feature with V4.30i that allows you to assign a
local 2, 3, or 4 digit extension to a telephone that is not a part of the OfficeServ system. This can be a cell phone, home phone, or any other phone number. This is very similar to a speed dial, except that MOBEX ports can be assigned to DSS keys, placed in Station Groups, and even have a DID routed to them.
Executive MOBEX
Executive MOBEX is an optional, licensed enhancement to the MOBEX feature in V4.30i.
Executive MOBEX is used to assign a MOBEX DSP to a selected MOBEX port. These MOBEX DSPs are a special type of DTMF Receiver that will connect to any calls made to or from the MOBEX port. MOBEX DSPs are provided by the OAS card in the OS7200 and OS7400 and by the MP10/MP10a processor card in the OS7100. These MOBEX DSPs allow the Executive MOBEX user to dial a code during a call on their Mobile Extension and receive system dial tone back so they can perform call control activities such as transferring the call, setting up a conference, or placing the caller on hold at another keyset.
In addition, Executive MOBEX allows a special DID to be set up that allows Executive MOBEX
users to call in to the system from their Mobile Extension and receive system dial tone in order to place calls through the system. This is simply a variation of the DISA feature.
OfficeServ Connect
The OfficeServ Connect is a new feature of V4.30i that allows simultaneous ringing of a Master keyset and up to 5 other devices. You may be familiar with this feature as SimRing or Twinning, but the Samsung difference is that we do not limit to a simple pairing of a keyset and a Mobile Extension. We allow a keyset to be matched to up to 5 other devices. These devices can be internal keysets (SLT, DLI, WIP, ITP, SIP Stations, etc) as well as MOBEX ports.
This means that when combined with the MOBEX feature, OfficeServ Connect allows calls to ring at a keyset and a cell phone (or other external device) simultaneously. When one device answers the call, the other devices stop ringing. If no device answers the call within the Master keyset’s No Answer Forward time the call is routed to the Master keyset’s voicemail. If OS Connect members are internal stations the OS Connect feature will ignore forwarding on those members. This ensures that calls to the Master station cannot end up in another keyset’s voicemail.
